Chris Dhooghe is a financial services consultant and entrepreneurial specialist who is co-owner and Vice President of ZC Financial, a business consulting company headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. Formerly the president of an independent insurance agency called Brooke Insurance & Financial Services, he is now president of Dhooghe Properties, LLC, a property investment company based in Pittsburg.
Chris has an extensive range of skills which spans a variety of different fields, with commercial production, event marketing and finance among his primary areas of specialization. He exhibited an active entrepreneurial spirit as well as an innate talent for sales at the tender age of 9. While children his age were mostly occupied with sports and games, Chris was already getting started as an entrepreneur, collecting aluminum cans and taking them to the neighborhood recycling center. He continued along the entrepreneurial path during his teenage years, starting a business installing vending machines in stores and other establishments all over his town.
At the age of 19, Chris enrolled in the Mortuary Science program at Central State University in Edmond. Although he only attended classes for one semester, he was interested enough in the mortuary business to pursue a career in a related field. He started his own funeral insurance business in the late 1990s pitching funeral insurance policies to clients in the Midwest. This proved to be a successful venture, and Chris became a prominent figure in in the funeral insurance industry in the area.
In 2001, a phone call from a business mentor heralded the start of a new career for Chris. His mentor told him about an established insurance company that was being sold for $500,000. With help from a longtime friend, Chris pooled his resources together and raised the needed capital to become co-owner of Steve Elliott Insurance Agency in Pittsburg. The agency eventually became one of the leading insurance firms in the area.
By the early 2000s, Chris was eager to explore new opportunities. He subsequently started up his own photo publishing website after the successful launch of a 2004 photo contest that attracted over 20,000 visitors daily from all over the world. The establishment of a publishing division which took charge of selling the company’s photography books subsequently earned him thousands of dollars in revenues.
In 2010, Chris again set his sights on a new business opportunity. After selling his publishing firm to a supplier, he found himself back in the business of selling funeral insurance plans. While catering to the needs of the expanding Baby Boomer market, he came up with an entirely new concept that was geared toward the senior market. Once again, he enlisted the help of a friend who had extensive experience in founding and managing a nationwide sales force. With the establishment of the partnership in 2013, the company soon began netting considerable revenues.
Today, Chris continues to bring success to the numerous businesses he has established through the years. Although his roles at ZC Financial and Dhooghe Properties take up the bulk of his schedule, Chris still manages to find the time to further develop his passions and to explore new ideas.
